Like every year, the Susan G. Komen Italia, which is a no-profit association on the frontline of breast cancer, is going to organize the usual Race for the Cure sporting event.

Three years ago, we celebrated its 20 years in Italy with more than 140.000 participants, while this year we will celebrate its seventh edition. This initiative pays tribute to the so-called Women in Pink: women who are facing breast cancer or who were diagnosed with it. These women bear witness to people of their personal experiences, raising awareness of breast cancer prevention and early diagnosis; their stories call for a radical change in the way many people approach the illness. Women in Pink convey a strong message of hope, bravery, strength, and solidarity to the many 56.000 Italian women who face this illness.

Over the years, Komen Italia has been working with national bodies to promote initiatives and awareness campaigns. The money raised with the event will allow the association:

  • grant fellowships to young researchers;
  • promote free detection programs;
  • promote activities aimed to support women experiencing the cancer.

From 5-8 May 2022, the eternal city will host initiatives aimed at promoting women’s health, sports, and solidarity. These initiatives will end on Sunday with the renowned 5km run and the 2km walk letting participants enjoy the beautiful Rome’s archeological sites.
Over the last 22 years, we have been able to implement more than 1000 research and disease prevention projects aimed to raise women awareness of breast cancer, to ensure their access to the best treatments, to better patients’ quality of life, and to give voice to them, calling on national bodies to take action.

Circolo Tennis EUR trainer, Mr. Antonio Eusebi, along with LUBEA, CT official sponsor, will participate in the running.
